ABC Supports Big Projects and Key Customers via Innovations

Since 2015, Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC) have made innovations in services to support big projects and key customers, with its loans keeping rapid growth. Preliminary statistics show the loans granted to relevant projects in 2015 topped RMB130 billion, greatly boosting the country’s real economy.
ABC increased loans to “large industries, big projects and key customers”. It participated in national key projects (South-to-North Water Diversion, West-to-East Gas Transmission, West-to-East Power Transmission, rural grid upgrade and “four longitudinal and four transversal” railway trunks) that are closely associated with national economy and people's livelihood, along with other large enterprises (in railway, petroleum, telecom and power sectors) that are of critical importance to lifeline of the national economy. Beijing New Airport is the biggest airport construction project in the China’s civil aviation history. ABC (the biggest shareholder taking 35%) took the lead to set up a consortium with total amount of no more than RMB40 billon for the Airport.

At the end of last year, ABC, as the biggest investor in the banking industry, participated in equity reorganization project (RMB5 billion) of CNPC West-to-East Gas Transmission pipelines, strongly supporting the country’s first reorganization reform in oil and gas pipeline facilities. During the project operation, it mobilized internal and external resources to establish industrial fund by leveraging diversified integrated financial products and services (such as asset management, investment banking, fund and trust), succeeding in investing in the assets of the country’s largest natural gas pipeline to be listed.
In line with the “Belt and Road” Initiative, ABC forcefully supported SOEs to go global, especially the agricultural projects. Since 2015, its branches in Singapore, Dubai, New York and elsewhere have supported the financing of COFCO Nidera, COFCO NobleAgri, COFCO (U.S.A.) and other companies, supporting agriculture to go global.
